Title; “Si-N-N Networks Presents- el Fin del Mundo Y Otras Cosas”
(The End of the World & Other Things)

The multi-media artist has exhibited in various museums and galleries in Texas, New York, and Mexico.

For the past years, my work has centered on the investigation of our collective consciousness and its failure to comprehend the consequence of violence and neglect in our society. This has prompted work that criticizes society and its fondness for violence, especially toward women, disinformation and the marginalized Indigenous.
The artist has spent some time living in South Texas, across from the border, in which the artist developed a body of work that he refers to as; Si-N-N Network Presents. The title is an obvious reference to our national news network CNN, and other news networks such as Fox. The artist has found that the current state of affairs including violence toward women, politics in Mexico and the US border, is underplayed and lacks any substantial coverage by the national news outlets.
This bizarre installation is a commentary on the many issues facing our live time now, from climate crisis to, Critical Race Theory, Wokeness, Extremism and the demise of Democracy in our world.
This installation will be a physical structure in which the network will be homebased. Inside, the artists as a pseudo-shaman, will act as a journalist expounding the violate news of the day, with its implications for us all. The structure, enclosed with tarp paintings and ceremonial poles with fake antennas, includes a screen with a chaotic video of the artist with his face painted, discussing the various news issues concerning information and disinformation relevant to man. Because we live in such a critical time, hence the reference in the title, the artist feels that we need to discuss what is LIFE ? What is DEATH ?
The life performance will open with the sound of a flute playing, this will be followed by a rap song about Life & Death. Barela, will then perform a dance of Life & Death interpretation inside the news structure, installation., and this is discussed in the video.
There will be a collection of flat rocks available, that have been coated with Limestone, to mimic the Maya roads of Scabe. The viewer will be asked to write on the stones, what is news, true, important, climate change, disinformation, etc.? This form of engagement is of importance because it is evident that we are all being bombarded by false and true information daily. These inscribed stones will be laid out in the form of a path to the Si’-N-N Networks Presents news house, like a ‘Scabe Camino de Verdad’, ( Scabe Road of Truth).
